SMM India and Marintec China
SMM India is being held from 12 to 14 November 2009 in the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai for the first time. It will offer customers and people interested in the shipping and shipbuilding supplier industry a concentrated access to the rapidly growing Indian market. The shipbuilding industry in China is growing similarly. China occupies second place behind Korea among the world’s shipbuilding countries. Marintec China, the maritime trade show for Asia, is being held from 1 to 4 December 2009 in Shanghai. Minimax Division Marine will be in both India and China and will be present in both growth markets as a full service international fire protection provider.
Minimax’s extinguishing systems enable efficient protection against fire risks on ships and consequently meet the above-average demands for safety at sea. For area protection in accommodations and public areas as well as property protection in engine rooms Minimax offers a high-pressure water mist extinguishing system custom tailored to these applications among other products: In the event of fire, Minifog marine XP requires up to 90 percent less extinguishing water than a classic sprinkler system and covers up to 32 square metres of protective surface area with one single sprinkler.
For special, smaller risk areas, such as control centres and electrical cabinet rooms as well as small engine rooms, Minimax has developed solutions with the extinguishing systems MX 1230 Marine and MX 200 Marine, which likewise meet the high onboard demands. The proven, chemical extinguishing agents NovecTM 1230 and HFC-227ea are neither corrosive nor electroconductive and cause no damage through short circuits or residues on sensitive components. The MX 1230 Marine and MX 200 Marine extinguishing systems can be laid out with up to 50 bar system pressure and are well-suited for use in tugboats, coastal and inland water vessels and small yachts, as well as oil rigs. They are provided with all-important Marine permits.
