Distinguished industrial fire detector:
GIT SAFETY AWARD 2009

GIT SAFETY AWARD 2009

Innovative companies presented their best products to the GIT publishing house, the specialist publisher for target-group-orientated communication for decision makers and opinion leaders in the chemistry, pharma, biotechnology, health service, automation and safety sectors. A total of 56 products in five categories – automation; CCTV, locks and access; safety in the workplace; hazardous material management; and fire protection – were nominated for the GIT SAFETY AWARD 2009. From September to November 2008, readers can then vote for their favourite. The 15 most popular products will be ranked in the first three places in each category. The product solution with the most votes from readers will win.

Distinguished industrial fire detector

The UniVario industrial fire detectors by Minimax have been nominated in the fire protection category. The intelligent, platform-based and micro-process-driven fire detectors from the UniVario product range can be used even in the most extreme conditions, thanks to their sturdy casing and assembly technology. Thanks to their modular concept and use of the latest signal processing technology, these devices can meet individual specifications in an unusually wide range of uses. This serves to ensure optimal room and object protection, even in the explosive zones 2 and 22. With the help of a service device and UniVarioView software, alarm data can be read with ease. With an operating voltage range of 7.5 V to 30 V, the UniVario detectors can be connected to all conventional fire detection control panels, in addition to SPS systems. A relay module enables potential-free contact for alarm and failure information. Through the communication module, the detectors can also be used as loop detectors with individual addressing.
