Acquisition in the Netherlands:
Minimax takes over Seafix Fire Fighting Systems BV
The Minimax subsidiary MX Brandbeveiliging BV is one of the leading companies in the Netherlands in the field of fire protection for marine construction. The acquisition of Seafix widens Minimax’s ranges of services. Seafix specialises in the engineering and installation of fire protection systems for inland waterway vessels, ocean-going vessels and drilling platforms, and thus provides an optimal addition to the business activities of Minimax.
The former owner of the company, Erik Pleijsier, will manage the company with its ten employees. Taken together with the Minimax location in Almere to the north-east of Amsterdam, this means that Minimax now has 31 employees in the Netherlands.
Seafix Fire Fighting Systems BV was established by Erik Pleijsier in Rotterdam in 1998. It began as a one-man business but the number of employees continued to grow. Within less than ten years, the company continued to develop and extend its product and service portfolio, growing from a seller and designer of smaller gas extinguishing systems for ships into a full-service provider and installer of fire protection systems for the marine sector, with an annual turnover of almost € 2 million.
